Weisberg Consulting specializes in designing, implementing, and supporting comprehensive Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.  Our focus is on implementing the IAM products offered by OpenText (formerly NetIQ/Microfocus).  We have well over 30 years of experience in this space and have had successful projects in a wide variety of industries, including education, finance, manufacturing, and state and local government.  No matter the size of the project, our primary goal is customer satisfaction.  Whether you have an experienced staff that simply needs advanced IAM consulting or you are starting from scratch and need someone to operate and support your IAM environment, Weisberg Consulting can help.  We work with a number of partners in the industry. Our primary software partners are OpenText and SuSE.

Matt Weisberg

Matt Weisberg has been involved with technology since the early days of the personal computer.  He received his first computer, a Timex Sinclair ZX81, in the early 1980’s and from there began using CP/M based systems from Kaypro.  After that he moved into the IBM PC world, where he eventually began building his own PCs and ran a dial-up bulletin board system (BBS) in the mid 1980’s.   While attending college at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, he ran a business out of his dorm room building computers for other students.  After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1992, he went to work at the Ford Motor Company.  He started in IT support and then moved on to advanced system integration, building complex desktop deployments for various constituents throughout Ford. 

Mr. Weisberg left Ford in 1996 and went to work for Novell, initially in support and then in consulting, traveling around the world implementing Novell software solutions at a wide variety of customers.  It was during this time that Mr. Weisberg began specializing in Identity and Access Management.  He was among the first group of consultants to implement DirXML, the predecessor to Identity Manager, and iChain, the predecessor to Access Manager.   He has since been involved with some of the largest implementations of these solutions at customers in all type of industriesHe was a frequent presenter at Novell’s Brainshare conferences and is a regular contributor to the OpenText community. Mr. Weisberg left Novell in 2006 to start his own firm, leveraging his expertise in the IAM space and focusing on providing solutions tailored to each customer’s specific needs.   

When not working, Mr. Weisberg is a volunteer docent at the Milford Historical Society Museum in Milford, Michigan. He also holds an amateur radio license and a private pilot license and is very involved in home automationHe is married with two daughters, one is a recent graduate from his alma mater, Bradley University, and the other is a current student at the University of MichiganHis wife, who also had a career in the IT industry, runs the day-to-day operations of Weisberg Consulting.
